How do I measure the TRAP's working ?
Please, remember... This is mostly my personal documentation of my "funny" work.
This
is my SETUP...
Maybe this is not the best way to measure, but gives me a clue if the TRAP's is in order. |

This
is the other 10 meter TRAP for DRIVEN ELEMENT
No: 878749 There is a little differents between the two TRAP's, but I do not think it changes the big picture.
So the DRIVER-ELEMENT must be all OK. This leave the BALUN as the coarse of the 11.8 MHz resonance.

Adjusting
the antenna do not have much influence at the resonance at 11.8 MHz

Still I need to adjust it a little UP frequency, but no more to day... |

Tower
foundation
This is my TURN OVER, so I can lay down the tower in a minute, but still, it is a hard job to adjust the antenna, because of the little place in my garden. I have to unmount the REFLECTOR each time I need adjusting the DRIVEN elements, standing on a stairway up in 3 meters high over ground. Then lay down the tower 2 meter before I can adjust the DRIVEN elements, and still standing on the stairway, working 2.5 m over ground. I think I have had the tower up and down 10 times now, so no more to day.
The weather has bin OVERCAST all the day with only 15 C, but that is fine to do antenna. (At the Spring, I must give this one a painting.) ( Nice to service the TAILTWISTER ROTOR, standing on solid ground ) |
